Corey Colson was born and raised as a military kid around the United States, where he developed a passion for entrepreneurship from an early age. Growing up as the black-sheep, Corey was surrounded by the requirement to mold himself into new environments, which sparked his interest communication and adaptation. He was peeked by challenge and competition.  

Education and Early Career

After completing high school, Corey pursued a degree in critical care nursing, paying for his degree learning hands-on training in the trades. He understood that solid foundation principles would complement his artistic skills, enabling him to navigate the complexities of entrepreneurship. During his studies, Corey worked part-time in various construction and design roles, gaining valuable experience and insight into the flooring industry.

Entrepreneurial Ventures

After graduating, Corey went on to specialize in Trauma Nursing, Minimally Invasive Cardiovascular Intervention and Directing Intensive Care Units. He progressed into Risk Management, building nationally recognized programs in Cardiovascular rescue and Stroke intervention. After an aggressive career in medicine, Corey longed to build a career in trade. He left the hospital with only the knowledge he learned in his developing years and chose to build a Concrete Polishing company. After a very successful stent in Surface Prep, Polish and Coatings. He utilized his skills as a masterful expert in program development and quality and performed a baseline gap analysis on the Decorative Concrete Industry. Meghan's Supply & Design, a company specializing in high-quality design solutions and materials. His keen eye for detail and commitment to excellence quickly earned him a reputation in the industry. Meghan's Supply & Design became known for its unique aesthetic and ability to transform spaces, catering to both residential and commercial clients.

Building on his initial success, Corey later launched Ballistix Coatings and Sealers, tapping into the growing demand for durable and high-performance coatings. This venture allowed him to innovate with products that offered both functionality and style. His dedication to quality led to the development of Bulletproof Resins, a line of advanced coatings designed to withstand the toughest conditions while providing a visually appealing finish. He then went on to found Coatings Central, the United States first hybrid classroom and showroom setting. Bringing together the Bulletproof Artistry team to construct his vision – 

Throughout his professional journey, Corey noticed a significant gap in the education available to aspiring artists and contractors. Many talented individuals struggled to turn their skills into successful businesses due to a lack of practical knowledge in entrepreneurship and trade-specific techniques. This observation ignited a passion in Corey to give back to the community and support the next generation of creators.

In response, he envisioned Coatings College, a trade school dedicated to equipping aspiring artists and contractors with the necessary skills to thrive in the industry. His goal was to create a curriculum that combined technical training in coatings and design with essential business practices. Corey believed that by fostering a new wave of skilled professionals, he could not only elevate the industry but also inspire creativity and innovation.
