Welcome to Coatings College: Your Path to Success

My name is Alan Cadena, and I was born in Mexico City. At 28 years old, I currently live in Arlington, Texas, a place I've called home for the past 21 years. My journey into the construction world started early, and over the years, it’s shaped who I am today. I attended UTA University, but it was in the real world, working with my family, that I really learned what I needed to know.

I’ve worked in construction for about 12 years now, and my experience spans across a wide range of trades. I started working with my dad in home remodeling, where I got hands-on experience in nearly every part of the business—painting, texturing, floor installation, carpentry, electrical work, and much more. Those early years taught me the value of hard work and craftsmanship. I also spent about two years working with one of my uncles in his painting and epoxy business, where I learned the ins and outs of the epoxy trade and gained more specialized skills.

In January of 2022, I made the decision to take the leap and start my own epoxy business. I had saved up everything I could and invested in the tools I needed to get started. I began by offering flake floors, then expanded into metallic finishes, grind and seals, and polishing. I dedicated countless hours to learning the technical aspects of the business and the installation process. Along the way, I also taught myself marketing and how to promote my services. It wasn’t easy, but I was driven by a passion for the craft and a desire to build something of my own.

In 2023, I discovered Bulletproof Resins, an epoxy brand that has truly exceeded my expectations in terms of both the quality of their materials and their outstanding customer service. I was so impressed with their products that I’m now proud to be a part of their team, and I look forward to what the future holds with this incredible company.

Looking back, it’s been a journey of growth, learning, and pushing myself to improve. Every challenge has been a lesson, and every victory, no matter how small, has been a step closer to the success I’ve been working towards. I’m excited for what comes next as I continue to grow my business and improve my craft.
